WEST HAM NEEDS VICTORIES IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE TO KEEP CHAMPIONS LEAGUE HOPES ALIVE

West Ham are really chasing UEFA Champions League qualification being in 6th place after garnering 51 points from 31 games this season. The Hammers are three points behind fourth-placed Manchester City and hope a slip on their part and The Red Devils will place them in line to participate in the European tournament next season.

Head Coach of the outfit, Slaven Bilic realizing this says his team would have to play a complete match to defeat third-placed Arsenal in the EPL this Saturday.

With Arsene Wenger still pursuing the EPL title this season, this just proves to be a long shot for Bilic.

Slaven Bilic in his first game as Manager of The Hammers defeated Arsenal by 2-0 at the Emirates last August.

The Croatian admits that his squad would have to be at in top form to defeat The Gunners. This would be the last meeting between both teams at current Stadium, Boleyn Ground. West Ham plans to move to The Olympic Stadium. Read more

Thomas Vermaelen has a medal but doesn’t feel like he deserved it

La Liga, Copa del Rey, UEFA Super Cup and the UEFA Champions League are all of the titles that Thomas Vermaelen has credited to his name as he was part of the Barcelona team that won all of these pieces of silverware but the Belgian defender only made 2 appearances during the season when Spanish club secured all of these titles and didn’t really play any important role.

Vermaelen could only make 2 appearances in his debut season for Barcelona and this was due to injuries but he is now fully recovered and recently overcame all of his injury problems, the veteran defender wants to win more titles with Barcelona but this time around he wants to play consistently with his team and play a huge role instead of having to sit out and settle with a place on the sidelines like he did in the previous season.

Barcelona’s Vermaelen said:  “I got a medal, but you don’t feel like you have won the treble. I was very happy for the team, but it’s not like I contributed a lot for the cups we won. I am very happy and very pleased to be back. There’s nothing better than to feel fit. Last year was terrible. It was a nasty injury, a very difficult one and I am very happy that the feeling in the legs is perfect again, like it should be. I feel 100% now. We just started pre-season so I am adapting still but I had 60 minutes against a good opponent so I am very pleased with that.” Read more

David de Gea’s move to Real Madrid is completed according to IkerCasillas

It has been for quite some time now that Real Madrid has been searching around the transfer market for a player who can follow the legacy and replace the 34 year old goal-keeper IkerCasillas.

For the past few weeks rumors have been linking Manchester United’s David de Gea with a move to Real Madrid. David de Gea is 24 years old but he is already being considered to be one of the best players in the world in his position.

David de Gea has been one of the few players of Manchester United who has managed to stand out and still play at a very high level despite the recent struggle that the Premier League club has experienced and it seems hard to believe that Manchester United would be even interested in selling one of their starlets but according to IkerCasillas, the deal has already been completed.

When IkerCasillas was asked about the goalkeeping situation involving David de Gea, the experienced player replied by saying that he is delighted to have competition and that he will be competing with his younger counterpart as if Real Madrid has already signed David de Gea from Manchester United. Raul recokns club to bounce back after poor Form

Former Real Madrid star Raul reckons that the club will bounce back from their recent run of poor form. Raul held the record for the most number of goals scored for the Spanish club in the Champions League.

Even though this record has been broken by Cristiano Ronaldo in recent months, Raul still remains a legend at the club. The former Spain international recently retired from playing football and he has voiced his opinions about the poor form suffered by Carlo Ancelotti’s team in the last couple of months. After a fantastic end to 2014, the club has been struggling to produce a consistent set of results in 2015.

This has allowed Barcelona to regain the lead in the la Liga, while there have also been some embarrassing scores like the 4-0 defeat against Atletico Madrid and the 4-3 loss against Schalke. Ancelotti’s tactics have been criticised heavily during this period, while the lack of goals from Cristiano Ronaldo is also concerning the club. Raul says that it is only a phase for the team and he expects it to be dealt with in great manner by Ancelotti, who is expected to get Luka Modric back into the team against Levante. Borussia Dortmund has been affected by the sheer financial power that certain clubs have as the German team has lost some of their main stars in the past with one of their most recent being Robert Lewandowski who joined Bayern Munich on January 3 of the current year.

Losing star players in the team is believed to be one of the reasons on why Borussia Dortmund is going through such a difficult season as they are located in the bottom spots of the Bundesliga, and this is the club that managed to claim the 2nd position only one season ago, it’s been a huge change.
