Griezmann Has Chosen The World Cup And Not The Ballon d’Or Cup

The star from the Athletico Madrid team is quite disappointed with the fact that he finished in the third place after Modric and Ronaldo in spite of having a great season with both the country and the club. He expressed being sad over the fact that he could not win one of the most coveted trophies in football for any individual but he was happy to put the upcoming world cup in its place.

Gareth Bale praised Ronaldo as Role Model

Real Madrid star Gareth Bale has once again showered with praise on superstar Cristiano Ronaldo by saying that the presence of the Portuguese makes him a better player. Bale is widely seen as the successor for Ronaldo at the Santiago Bernebeu. He has had a good start to his life at Madrid after managing to win the Copa del Rey and Champions League in his first season. Due to the immense scoring record of Ronaldo, the Portuguese has often been in the limelight. Bale has not been scoring as regularly as Ronaldo, but it is still a huge jump from his Tottenham days.

The Welsh international says that playing alongside some of the best players in the world like Ronaldo helps him improve his game as well. Bale has spoken in recent times about managing to become the best player in the world and winning the FIFA Ballon d’Or award. The 24-year-old has been included in the shortlist for this year’s award after helping Madrid win the Champions League. However, he is likely to not make it to the final three man shortlist. Ronaldo is the favourite to win the award this year and it would be the third of his career.

One of the main advantages of Ronaldo is the ability to use two feet. Bale says that he is looking to improve his weaker right foot.”Learning off the best player in the world is just incredible.Ronaldo has been amazing since I’ve been there and I learn something new every day. He’s helping me become a better player, which is my constant goal. I’m trying to get up to his level. In fact, I’ve even been trying to improve my right foot. Without Real Madrid, I would have loved to still be there playing for Spurs,” said Bale.
